Why You Should Delete Instagram, According To Pam Anderson Herself
Pam Anderson has had nothing if not an interesting life. From a ’situation’ with Julian Assange, to Home Improvement and Playboy, serenity and Pam were hardly presented in the same sentence. However yesterday morning, the icon posted on Instagram before logging out for what she says will be the final time.
According to Anderson, she has liberated herself from the steely grip of modern technology to fully embrace the “peaceful sexy life” that has long beckoned to her.
“This will be my last post on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook”, she writes. “I’ve never been interested in social media. And now that Im settled into the life Im genuinely inspired by reading and being in nature I am free.”
The 53-year-old went on to wish her fans well in finding their purpose and escaping the clutches of online time-wasting. “That’s what THEY want and can use to make money. Control over your brain -”
At the end of the post Anderson used the hashtag #thebewilderedherd, referencing the title of the 2004 book by Dr B. A. Taleb. The book delves into theories of the mass media’s manipulation of the public detailing why and how this occurs.
Pam has joined a collection of other celebrities who have made the decision to quit Instagram, or not get it at all, including Meghan Markle, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone and Scarlett Johansson. Meanwhile, here we remain, compulsively and endlessly scrolling.
So will you be joining the bandwagon? We will leave Pam’s words with you while you figure that out:
