Type 2 Diabetes: The Halki Diabetes Remedy could help control the condition – what is it?
The health related tools are supposed to teach you ways to eliminate toxins from your body. The program says that removing these toxins can help lower blood sugar and improve your health. So far, there is little research investigating if the Halki Diabetes Remedy is effective or safe for managing diabetes.
However, The remedy is branded as an all-natural remedy that is supposed to manage type 2 diabetes. It uses recipes that were developed using information collected on the island of Halki in Greece.
Many develop type 2 diabetes without realising. This is because symptoms do not necessarily make you feel unwell.
Some of the usual symptoms of type 2 diabetes include:
- Peeing more than usual, particularly at night
- Feeling thirsty all the time
- Feeling very tired
- Losing weight without trying to
- Itching around your penis or vagina, or repeatedly getting thrush
- Cuts or wounds taking longer to heal
- Blurred vision

Whilst it is not yet scientifically proven, the Halki Diabetes Remedy focuses on lowering the effects of a pollutant in the environment called PM2.5. The program claims that PM2.5 can enter the body, contributing to insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes.
In an attempt to control diabetes, the Halki Diabetes Remedy involves mixing together two salad dressings that contain ingredients aimed at to reducing the effects of PM2.5. The three main ingredients are:
- Broccoli sprouts
- Kohlrabi
- Marjoram
The Halki Diabetes Remedy will tell you to add these salad dressings to your food twice per day.
There is some evidence to suggest that from that long-term exposure to high levels of PM2.5 is associated with the appearance of type 2 diabetes.
However, the study paper, published in the Journal of Diabetes Investigation, emphasised that an association does not mean that PM2.5 causes type 2 diabetes. It simply implies that populations with regular exposure to high levels of PM2.5 may have a higher incidence of type 2 diabetes.
According to the NHS, some of the common factors that are known to cause type 2 diabetes are:
- Genetics
- Low levels of physical activity
- Eating a diet high in refined carbohydrates, trans fats, and calories
- Having overweight or obesity
As there is limited scientific research thus far to prove whether the Halki Diabetes Remedy aids in reducing the effects of type 2 diabetes, it is important to consult your GP before enrolling on the program.
As well as this, if you have other underlying health conditions or are prescribed strong medication, relying on the Halki Diabetes Remedy could impact with this.
Proven ways to aid the effects of diabetes include insulin or other medications to help manage your blood sugar levels.
To make sure you are managing your diabetes, it is important to take your diabetes medications exactly as directed.
Seeking care
When diabetes is not treated early, it can lead to your blood sugar becoming too high. This is known as hyperglycemia and can cause symptoms like:
- Increased thirst
- Frequent urination
- Feeling fatigued or weak
- Headache
- Blurry vision
If you notice that your blood sugar readings are often high or you are experiencing symptoms of hyperglycemia, you should seek consultation from your GP immediately.
If you are having trouble managing your diabetes, your doctor may alter the dosage of your medication or change course to a different medication. They may also suggest changes to your diet or exercise which can help you keep fit, healthy and mitigate the chances of developing type 2 diabetes later in life.
