Heart attack symptoms: The smelly sign you may be ignoring – are you at risk?
Heart attacks are serious medical emergencies that require immediate attention from a doctor. You could be at risk of a deadly heart attack – or myocardial infarction – if you find that you’re sweating more often than normal, it’s been revealed.
Heart attacks are caused by a lack of blood reaching the heart.
Without enough blood, the heart could become seriously damaged – and it may even be life-threatening.
A heart attack could also be a symptom of coronary heart disease, which is where fatty deposits build up in the arteries, which limits the amount of blood reaching the heart.
You may be at risk of a deadly heart attack if you find that you’re sweating more often than normal.
Excessive sweating is one of the earliest warning signs of a heart attack.
If some of the body’s arteries are clogged up with fatty deposits, the heart needs to work harder to make sure blood is pumped around the body.
As a result of the added work, the body starts to sweat to keep its temperature down.
If you’re often sweaty without any obvious reason, you should consider speaking to a doctor.

But, just because you’re excessively sweating, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re having a heart attack.
Excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis, is actually a very common condition that affects people of all ages.
It can happen as a side-effect of another medical condition, or without any obvious reason at all.
But, you should still speak to a GP if your sweating happens at least once every week, or if it stops you getting on with your everyday activities.
