Happy Mother's Day! Zoe Saldana and More Celeb Moms Describe Dream Day
A sweet way to celebrate! When it comes to Mother’s Day festivities, these celebrities know exactly how they want to spend Sunday, May 12 — and gave Us Weekly the exclusive details.
Whether they’re asking for breakfast in bed or just a few minutes of alone time, these stars’ holiday confessions are so relatable. But will their families follow through? Only time will tell!
Cardi B, though, already knows that she won’t be getting the ideal first Mother’s Day she envisioned after welcoming her daughter, Kulture, in July 2018 with her husband, Offset.
“I’m very sad about Mother’s Day,” the rapper told Us earlier this month at the Fashion Nova X Cardi B Collection Launch. “I saw that I’m booked for Mother’s Day for a show and it’s like, I had plans for Mother’s Day. I just hope South Carolina turns up for me because I’m going to spend my first Mother’s Day with them.”
The Grammy winner loves spending time with her little one, even pulling out of a tour with Bruno Mars to be at home with her baby. “I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that 6 weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically,” Cardi admitted on Instagram shortly after giving birth. “I also thought that I’d be able to bring her with me on tour but I think I underestimated this whole mommy thing,” she wrote at the time. “Not only am I just not ready physically, I’m not ready to leave my baby behind.”
As for Padma Lakshmi, the Top Chef host leaves the holiday completely up to her 9-year-old daughter, Krishna. “The day is in her hands,” she told Us exclusively.
