“❤️,” the Australia Zoo conservationist captioned the photo on Instagram. She’s wearing a khaki shirt and jeans and holding a flashlight as she hugs her dad. She has light brown hair with short bangs and a cute smile that is so like Grace. But the part that proves Grace is her mini-me? The look of total fascination in her eyes as she gazes at a snake her dad is holding up. There’s no fear of the creature, just pure love — just like Grace does now!

The Crocodile Hunter taught his daughter (and his son Robert Irwin) how to love animals of all kinds, which Bindi and her husband Chandler Powell have passed on to their daughter Grace. Steve, who died 17 years ago today after being pierced by a stingray in the Great Barrier Reef, still has such a strong influence on his family. We are getting emotional just thinking about how proud he would have been of his kids and granddaughter now!
