Type 2 diabetes affects the insulin found in the body and this creates a dire effect on one’s health as everybody needs insulin to live and be healthy. Leading health experts believe that turmeric spice may help manage high glucose levels in the blood.

The spice was shown to increase insulin sensitivity, which leads to lower blood sugar levels.

Clinical trials on animals have shown these results to be true and leads to suggestion that turmeric could help those living with type 2 diabetes and are worried about rising blood sugar.

What the study say

A scientific paper from the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and McGill University reviewed studies of how curcumin from the around the world could help with better type 2 diabetes management.

In many of the studies it was found that curcumin reduced blood sugar and cholesterol levels for those with diabetes.

Curcumin was found to improve insulin function which reduces insulin resistance by helping them enter the cells needed to repair and do its function.

On top of helping lower blood sugar levels and improve insulin functions, curcumin was also found to be an excellent weight loss booster.

Health experts found that curcumin prevented liver fat accumulation in studies on rats. It found that rats who consumed curcumin had reduced liver fat on a high-fat diet compared to rats not consuming curcumin and aided in weight loss.

One of the best type 2 diabetes management one could do is lose weight if overweight and curcumin could help with this.

The studies also found that curcumin helped to fight off cancers and even helped those suffering with erectile dysfunction.
