Abby Lee Miller has been steadily making progress toward walking again, nearly two years after she was diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma, a rare type of cancer that affected her spine. And, in a new video shared to Instagram, Abby showed that she’s actually doing turns now.
“Turning? Not exactly the technique I taught in my studio to all those kids!” she wrote in the caption. In the video, you can see Abby holding onto a railing during physical therapy. Her wheelchair is in the background and she says, “Check out my turns,” as she lets go of the railing. Abby’s a little unstable at first but then, using the support of the railing, she turns to the side. You can then see her in the mirror, where she lifts her hands and says, “ta-da!”
People naturally freaked in the comments. “You are slaying!! Love you❤️,” one wrote. “So proud of u🔥,” said another.
Abby has been in a wheelchair since April 2018 and she’s been working incredibly hard to get mobile again. Back in June, Abby announced that she planned to be walking again by September, and she’s making great progress.
Abby had knee replacement surgery in July and, since then, she’s shared a slew of videos on Insta of herself steadily making progress. There was this one:
